Something that was asleep is awakened!

This time we are bringing an old sculpture hall in the heart of the city back to life .

Etwas, das schlief, wird geweckt!

What's new at 220GRAD in 2022? A new 220GRAD Café will open in Salzburg in March, at Philharmoniker-Gasse 9.

It is yet another far from ordinary space. After the café in Chiemseegasse, which, as an extension of a former painter's workshop, nestles against old buildings hidden in front of the entrance to the Chiemseehof, and the café in Nonntal, which evokes the atmosphere of the former engine workshop, it is now the sculpture hall of the Rupertinum Museum in the festival district.

Studio Riebenbauer, our inspiring partner since the beginning, is once again responsible for the design and implementation of the 220GRAD signature.
Let me reveal this much: a sculptural, 12-meter-long bar will offer not only moments of sensual relaxation but also the opportunity to be directly involved in coffee preparation. And all of this will be on the same level, reflecting how we see ourselves as a team, as a society, as a whole. In this beautiful space, we aim to experience what art, like coffee, can evoke within us: "Something that was dormant will be awakened."

Some facts about the future Café 220GRAD Rupertinum.
Historical Background: The Rupertinum, an early Baroque building in the heart of the old town, was reopened in 1983 as the "Museum of Modern Art and Graphic Collection – Rupertinum" after renovations by architect Gerhard Garstenauer. A building on this site was first mentioned in 1350, and the current one was built in 1633 in the early Baroque style. Under Archbishop Paris Lodron, the palace served as the "Collegium Rupertinum," a training center for seminarians, and until 1974 it functioned as a residence for female students.

The new 220GRAD Rupertinum will offer 49 indoor and 40 outdoor seats on a total area of 220m² (what a coincidence!). Carefully selected professionals are bringing the design concept to life. A mix of renowned regional craftspeople and international suppliers ensures a fresh perspective while remaining grounded in reality.
