220GRAD is a family business.
We run the company as four people across two generations. Working together as a family is fuel, glue, and spark all at once – and it embodies a lot of what we stand for. We've been roasting specialty coffee in Salzburg since 2008 and serving it in our coffee shops. Even as we've grown, our standard has stayed the same: exceptional coffee, roasted with care, knowledge, and passion.
Why a new design?
While developing our new design, we asked ourselves a simple question:
What is the core of 220GRAD?
The answer: Temperature.
It didn't just give us our name – it also stands for the transformation that happens during roasting, the moment a green bean becomes exceptional coffee.
Temperature is more than just a number to us. It's a deliberate choice, a symbol of change, knowledge, and craft.
Together with our design partners, we brought this idea to life: using heat and coffee beans, we created unique patterns on thermal paper. These patterns form the foundation of our new packaging design.
Three reasons for the relaunch
1. We show what we stand for.
The new design puts temperature – and with it, our expertise as a specialty roastery – front and center.
2. Design tells our story.
To us, design is more than a nice-looking package. It reveals who we are, how we work, and what matters to us. The new look expresses our identity even more clearly.
3. More sustainable for the future.
Our new packaging meets the requirements of the current EU regulations on the circular economy (PPWR). It's been designed to be more easily recycled and returned to the material cycle.
220GRAD – Temperature isn't a number. It's a decision.
